April is Dig Safe Month, a time to raise awareness about preventing underground utility damage.

Ontario sees more than 3,900 damages to underground infrastructure every year, averaging about 17 incidents each workday. Many of these occur because locates were never requested.

Ontario One Call research shows that 28% of professionals and 57% of homeowners skipped locates on their last digging project, despite it being required by law. Most of these damages are preventable.

Requesting locates is free and helps protect people, property, and infrastructure. Call before you dig. It’s the law.
