A new telephone scam is active in Halton Hills. Customers have reported receiving calls claiming to be from Save on Energy asking for detailed information about utility bills and claiming to be able to save the customer money.
Save on Energy does not call homeowners to solicit participation in its programs. If you receive an unprompted call or home visit from a group claiming to be Save on Energy, please let them know by emailing email@example.com.
The Ontario Energy Board has issued a consumer alert with more details regarding this scam. Visit: https://www.oeb.ca/newsroom/2020/consumer-alert-protect-your-personal-information-save-energy-does-not-solicit-0
